About Kyocera > Corporate Citizenship

Corporate Citizenship

The joy we feel in giving back to society as a responsible corporate citizen brings Kyocera's founding philosophy to life.

Kyocera places the utmost importance on our local stakeholders — customers, employees, shareholders, business partners and local communities. We believe that all business enterprises should demonstrate social responsibility and contribute to sustainable development worldwide.

 The Kyoto Prize
Japan's non-profit Inamori Foundation was established in 1984 in the spirit of founder Kazuo Inamori's belief that "our highest calling as human beings is to work for the greater good of humankind and society." Kyocera supports the Foundation's Kyoto Prize, an international award presented each year to those who have made significant contributions in three categories; "Advanced Technology," "Basic Sciences," and "Arts and Philosophy."

 Kyoto Laureate Symposium
Kyocera supports this symposium, hosted by the Inamori Foundation, which brings Kyoto Prize laureates to major universities for educational presentations in San Diego, U.S.A.

Alfred University's Kazuo Inamori School of Engineering (U.S.A.)
Kyocera supports Alfred University's world-leading research in ceramics, as well as its plan to create an Inamori Kyocera Fine Ceramics History Museum.

 Pink Ribbon Activities
Kyocera supports the fight against breast cancer. Since 2004, Kyocera has donated a portion of its profits from sales of pink-handled ceramic knives in North America to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure organization.

Inamori-Kyocera Western Districts Development Scholarship Fund
To promote development in Western China, Kyocera and its founder, Kazuo Inamori, established a fund in 2001 to award annual scholarships at 12 of the region's universities.

 The Kyocera Museum of Art
This museum, at our global headquarters in Kyoto, Japan, is open to the public, allowing visitors to admire diverse Japanese and Western cultural assets.

 Kyoto Sanga F.C.
Kyocera supports the J-League's 100-Year Vision to energize Japan's sports culture. We assist the Kyoto Sanga F.C. soccer team, which inspires fans with its sportsmanship and athletic excellence.
